One Fine Day
Bistro and event space, Old Hall Street, Liverpool.
The venue inhabits two existing spaces which are a collision of Edwardian classicism, being the remaining elements of the 1906 Cotton Exchange, and the utilitarian infill of the 1960s office development.
Each space is dominated by powerful structural features, the monolithic granite columns of the 1906 building, and the in-situ concrete frame of the 1960s structure.
The palette is designed to respond to the contrasting architectures, using subtle patterns and textures, combined with a bold, monolithic use of colour.
